Our Team
The team consists of 4 partners and 16 professional and support staff.
The partners are all highly trained in areas as diverse as taxation planning, auditing, business structures, investment and superannuation administration.
The partners are well supported by an enthusiastic team of young accountants at various stages of their careers from qualified chartered accountants to university students.
Graeme Thomas, B. Comm, F.C.A.
Graeme is a Chartered Accountant, Registered Company Auditor and Registered Tax Agent, providing advice to clients on a variety of accounting, taxation and business management issues. With almost 30 years experience in the profession, Graeme has assisted clients with possibly the whole range of issues that can confront small to medium businesses firm time to time. Graeme has a special interest in improving the taxation system and is a Practitioner representative on a national Tax Reform committee formed by the Tax Office. He is also on the Institute of Chartered Accountants listing of mediators and arbitrators for appointment in dispute resolution matters.
David Simpson, B Comm. F.C.A.
David provides general accounting assistance, including taxation and management advice, to a variety of clients, ranging from individuals to national businesses. Given his considerable experience in taxation planning, business evaluations and advising on efficient management, David's clients include various professional practices, as well as other businesses. David acts in an honorary capacity for a number of community based organizations.
Chris Duffy B. Comm. C.P.A.
Chris Duffy commenced his career in Sydney in 1982. He had over 10 years experience in Sydney before joining Thomas Simpson Partners in 1994 and becoming a partner in July 1997. Chris manages a wide variety of clients in both size and diversity. He has experience in all facets of business management including business structures, asset protection, taxation planning, superannuation, tax effective investment strategies, business valuations and assistance with finance arrangement. He enjoys a close association with his clients and has developed a reliable network of business associates in the legal profession, investment and financial planning field and mortgage and finance brokers.
David Apps B. Comm. C.A.
David Apps started his career in the Upper Hunter before making the move to Thomas Simpson Partners in 2001. With over 15 years in accounting David is well equipped to provide taxation and business advice to all levels of clients. David has an extensive knowledge of accounting software applications such as MYOB and Quickbooks. His broad client base has given him experience in a wide range of industries including primary production, manufacturing, transport, labour hire, retail, accommodation, medical and other professionals.
